I can't find out who said it first, but in hundreds ofblogs all over the internet comes the phrase: "The roadto Tehran runs through Damascus". Thishas become clear in the light of the recent Russia and China veto of a UnitedNations Security Council resolution against Syria for the second time in fourmonths. In view of this, it appears NATOand The Arab League are looking for "a workaround" to topple the Assad governmentand that could be morphing from a peaceful call for democratic change into aviolent armed insurgency.

According to the Associated Press Sunday, February 12, 2012,the 22-nation Arab League called for the U.N. Security Council to create ajoint "peacekeeping force" for Syria, but Damascus rejected itimmediately. So what is behind all this?

This becomes apparent as the age-old oligarchies of Europeand North America continue to lay the groundwork for global dominance over theoil-rich nations of the Middle East. The"peacekeeping" force tends always to turn into an "occupationforce" The NATO warfare states andthe Arab League are now engrossed in perfecting the Orwellian truth that “continualwar is continual peace”.

With the battle for Libya behind them, the West with itsNATO allies are undoubtedly filled with hubris and joy that an age-old formulais working again. That formula is ofcourse is "Conquest Under Humanitarian Cover"

The old "problem-reaction-solution" script isreplayed: Most people can remember thefailed CIA coup attempt against Hugo Chavez where CIA-sponsored groups firedlive ammo into protesters, fomenting violence and instability within theirtarget country. This was followed by theimmediate arming and financing of dissident groups, and directing these samegroups with the help of covert special forces, thus creating "theproblem". The reaction follows whengovernment forces move in to quell the insurrection, then comes orchestratedmedia propaganda blitz accusing the government of violating human rights. The solution is always the"peacekeepers" who come in to pick up the spoils.

The Syrian offensive attempts a replay of the Libyantakeover. First The Arab League suspendsthe offending country, lending legitimacy to its declaration thus labelingSyria as an international menace, which in turn provides a pretext for thenoble U.S. and NATO to mount militarystrikes, committing atrocities in the name of their R2P “responsibility toprotect”, and engineering a regime change in the interests of the West. Thisneocolonialism worked in Kosovo and it will work in Syria with the help ofother Arab states including the Arab League.

The ancient Romans used the adage of: "Get a dog to eat a dog." Arabs fighting Arabs. Arabs battling among themselves and"When the hurley burley's done, when the battle's lost and won...",as Shakespeare wrote in Macbeth, then the softened target is ripe for the NATOempire to pick up the spoils. Here theprize is control of the oil-rich Arab lands. The empire may then set up a Sarkozy-style puppet government, lending legitimacyand then with a compliant media cooperating, the world is happy to regain peacewhile the empire walks away with the prize.

Occupy Movement And Higher Evolutionary Consciousness

I like to call this the first a-number-one lie inhistory. It is one that keeps comingback deceiving humans down through the ages. It is the "ye-shall-be-as-gods" lie, repackaged in differentlabels and rhetoric from the gnostic or the secret knowledge teachings of the Greeks to the hucksters on late-night infomercials that say“You won't know anything without my special book--my philosophy or without thesecret doctrines of my channeled spirit guide.

Whatever the story may be, I'll guaranteed you must pay the guru,the priest or the mystical channelers to realize your full potential inlife. The prophets know more than you doand you can bet they have special messages from the great beyond.

The classic lies; they all seemto work the same for every new generation. The Occupy Movement's "higherevolutionary consciousness scam" isjust the next guru waiting in line to get paid.

I would ignore it all, but I see something here. Occupy Movement has definitelytaken on the globalist twist and is backed by some heavy hitters in thefinancing and organizing game. Itfigures if I could control the levers of financial power, then I could squeezethis economy until I get everybody out there shouting "We're the 99percent!!!" But if I tell thesefrustrated protesters: "You must evolve, and not care about how much moneyI steal from you." That's thecarrot. The stick of course is myflashbang grenade.

Okay, so how about if I take your job but give you a digital food card instead? Be of good cheer and meditate and I'll letyou keep the card. But don't breathetoo much air, carbon dioxide isn't good for Mother Earth. Remember Al Gore would not steer you wrong.

It becomes clear that the global Oligarchyhas enough power and coordination to get the world in a "pincer maneuver". On one front there is the U.S. Empire's warfor oil and resources in the middle east, and on the other front, there is theonslaught of fear and indoctrination about man destroying Mother Earth. The hidden plan nobody looks at of course is the blocking of accessto real wealth--the resources needed for farming, timber, oil and miningand manufacturing and wealth-building production.

It's the old carrot and stick again. The stick is the U.S. empire's military mightand the carrot is selling the higher consciousness Mother Earth scam to useful occupiers who don't know they are being used. The new "evolutionary leap" willrequire them to leap out of every last shred of freedom and surrender to the newfeudal lords unpacking their bags and occupying Wall Street.

South Carolina vote count begins to stink

A foul and familiar wind rose around the South Carolina vote count this week and has settled across the internet. The stunning victory that sent Newt Gingrich from a 15% approval rating to whopping 40% of the votes tallied was just too big a jump to be believed. Viewed as a red flag signaling possible vote manipulation, by many pundits, it sent writers scurrying to seek out the stench behind such a foul wind.

Chris Lawton of the Ron Paul campaign was barred from witnessing the vote count as was his right, and told he could only view it outside by projector. So a clear breach of law was apparent in South Carolina from the outset. It becomes clear to many that the kingmakers wanted to use this opportunity to give Newt a boost hoping that it would slow the popular momentum gained recently by Mitt Romney. Some believe the objective all along was to sully Romney who is viewed as an outsider by the kingmaker establishment and feel they are simply using Newt, knowing that with so many skeletons in his house he could never be elected. This was intimated at recently during the John King CNN interview with Nancy Pelosi where she affirmed solidly that there was quote: "Something I know..." that would keep Gingrich from ever being president.

Newt Gingrich is the consumate politician who says one thing and then votes the opposite way. Sound familiar? Of course that's because they are owned and run by the same bosses. More to come.

Newt Singin' His Old Song

Newt like old man river, he just keeps rolling along...that old song and dance that worked well in 95, is now, playing again like there is no dark past to remember, playing that tired old tune of the oligarchy that back him, lulling the unwashed masses with a lullaby that the whole sheep herd of soccer moms and dads hear with glee. It is only later that they squeal that they are the sheared and taxed sheep being drawn and quartered and sold down the river one more time by a global power system that owns both sides of every election, every war, and every mainstream talking head. Poor sheep.

Back at the Pentagon, sanctions on Iran, are not quite enough so then up comes sanctions against any EU nation trading with Iran, well that sounds like the old familiar tune playing again, that tune of the oil embargo they played against Japan which stirred that nation into launching their day of infamy. But most of the brass will secretly admit that war is just a racket, you dance to the tune, place your bets and get rich in the end, or you buck the system and disappear down the memory hole. But skill and diplomacy must come into play when launching this Iran war without letting on that you engineered it. The sheep would never stand for that. Yes, Washington desperately needs a war. A war that we can believe in. A war to sweep the sitting president back into office. A war to get them out of the financial criminality that has flooded in around them and get people to forget their crimes. But getting the war going becomes even more difficult that the botched days of The Gulf of Tonkin. In the day of internet tweets and international bloggers, everyone has and ipad and a video camera.

The war of words keeps going as Press TV reports on January 26th that a senior Iranian official dismissed as futile the latest EU sanctions on the country's oil exports adding that Tehran will not allow a condition to arise wherein others are allowed to sell oil and Iran is not.

"In the absence of Iranian supply, oil prices will go up and they (the Western states) know it; However, Iran will never allow itself to be in a situation in which it cannot sell oil but other regional states can," Ali Akbar Velayati, senior adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, announced to Press TV on Thursday.

So who knows if Ali Akbar Velayati is just showboating for the cameras. Only time will tell. The big question remains will the EU nations dance to Washington’s old tune? I think the test will not be proven openly but in the backroom deals and threats among leaders that are to come.

WILL THE CARRY TRADE COLLAPSE?

As the dollar sinks lower, and as the credit freeze continues, we wonder if the Yen carry trade can go on, business as usual. I think this party must end soon. The world is changing with the onset of the housing collapse in the the U.S. , foriegn investors are now shy of dollar denominated assets such as bonds and other paper promises. The reason is most feel they were burned by the U.S. banks when they were sold the pile of housing CDOs (collateralized debt obligations) that turned out to be worthless. Instead of being marked to market value, these toxic securities were marked to a computer model which turned out to be false. Fool me once, then shame on me, they say and will not trust again untill this storm of bad loans has passed. Many of these bad debts were sold to hedge funds. Many hedge funds make their living by buying and trading world currency. The favorite is the Yen carry trade.

Here's an example of a "yen carry trade": let's say a trader borrows 1,000 yen from a Japanese bank, converts the funds into U.S. dollars and buys a bond for the equivalent amount. Let's assume that the bond pays 4.5% and the Japanese interest rate is set at 0%. The trader stands to make a profit of 4.5% (4.5% - 0%), as long as the exchange rate between the countries does not change. Many professional traders use this trade because the gains can become very large when leverage is taken into consideration. If the trader in our example uses a common leverage factor of 10:1, then she can stand to make a profit of 45%.
The big risk in a carry trade is the uncertainty of exchange rates. Using the example above, if the U.S. dollar were to fall in value relative to the Japanese yen, then the trader would run the risk of losing money. Also, these transactions are generally done with a lot of leverage, so a small movement in exchange rates can result in huge losses unless hedged appropriately.
